Promoting Sri Lanka Tourism
In our sixth edition, we covered a story on the economic downfall of Sri Lanka Tourism. We all know that Sri Lanks faces a toufgh phases specially during the time of COVID sanctions. But the way they show there will in the recently concluded road show at Mumbai is amazing and astnoshing. Sri Lanks always have a turmoil situation in political arena and they always bounce back with a bang. Being a travel journalist, I covered Sri lanka meet in New Delhi in Year 2018. In year 2018, there business was 2.3 million and followed by year 2019, they face downfall with a revenue of 1.3 million. Personally, I feel that Sri Lanka best part of tourism is Ramayan Circuit. If they open there religious section with Ramayan, they may get more tourist as expected.
In year 2018, Sri Lanka revenue was 44 thousand crore which comes all time low in Year 2021 with 2 thousand crore. Travel Agent Association of India and Outbound Tour Operator association of India can also play a crucial role to revive the stagnent phase of Sri Lanka Tourism Mr Harin Fernando's, the honorable tourism minister speech during the road show was impressive.
